Above is a photo of the poster in the current issue of Frankie magazine. I really like it. I am already planning on framing it with some decorations added to it myself!
My creative mind is whirling!
I am totally thrilled with these and sent a message through to Jodie instantly to say THANKYOU!
It has brought sunshine to my day!
I hadn't looked them up for ages so the other week I did. I found out that they have just come under new ownership by two ladies who are just as passionate about stitching and Giggle buttons as the previous owners! I also found that they have a Giggle Club which I signed up for. There is five mailouts per year and it costs $20 per mailout and you get a new stitchery pattern with the buttons that no one else has seen yet. Groovy huh? You can check out there shop site and find out more about Giggle Club here. Kez & Elisa (the new owners) also have a blog which you can find here. Above is the June mailout of the Giggle Club pattern & buttons that I received in the mail this week. I was so thrilled to receive it and can't wait to get stuck into it but I need to be patient and try and finish the projects that I have already started.

Yes, it's 'Pieces of Me' by Janelle Wind. This truly made my day. I was so happy to hold this delightful book in my eager hands. Can't wait to get a stitchin'!
Yesterday, I did promise some photos of what I got up to at the craft day. Every second Sunday, a group of ladies get together at the hall here in the community where I live and we do whatever craft we want to do. It's a good chance to get some WIP's done or just that little bit closer to completion. I couldn't manage to get decent enough photos of what I did so I will tell you and try and post pictures of them completed at a later date.
I started doing some crochet, then I pulled out some old pillow cases I got from an op shop in town and cut out as lining for a kids skirt I wanna make. I may give it to Jarrah or I might put it in the baby gift stash.
The third thing I did was cut some fabric into 6 strips about 1cm wide. I then made two plaited strips which I will attach each end to elastic to make a plaited fabric headband. It's easier to see what I mean through photos so come back again at a later date to check out the finished result.
And there was a lot of things that made me excited and happy yesterday and I couldn't fit it all into yesterday's post so I'll tell you today since I'm just as excited about it. I won a prize for the poem I wrote for Jodie and her Sweet Vintage embellishments. I didn't win the $50 voucher but she liked my poem so much that she is sending me something in the mail for it. I am so excited and totally thrilled that something of mine has been recognised! It's a great feeling! And I get something from Jodie which is even greater!
Another thing that made me very happy today was receiving a package in the mail with this vintage style jewellery box in it. I am really into owls (and also Russian dolls) at the moment and thought this was very cute. It will come in very handy to store some items in my craft room. I bought this off Etsy from Katadrian.
Something else that made me happy today was when I found out that I had lost .6 of a kg. Doesn't sound like much but anything is good with my condition (that will have to be another blog post where I explain what I mean by that). A few of the women around these parts are getting together every Monday and Wednesday mornings to do some workouts as part of our Biggest Loser quest. So between this and netball training/games I should be fitter and weigh a little less I hope!
Jason set up our printer last night and today I used it to print out a pattern for a stationery folder that is designed by Melissa Goodsell over at http://melissagoodsell.typepad.com/day_to_day/
You can find her free tutorial over at her blog and follow the links. It is featured at Quilt Fabric Delights and you can purchase the fabrics she uses at their site or pick your own that suit you best. I love it - it will come in very handy to make for storing my postcards and writing gear that I use for postcrossing and stuff.
Are you a postcrosser? You should be. It's fun.

I absolutely LOVE getting mail. I get really excited when I see some packages in the barrel that are all for me!! My latest hobby is Postcrossing. I love it! My stash of cards from all over the world is slowly growing. As you can see, yesterday I got 2 more. One was from Austria and the other from Finland.

I entered her giveaway for a $50 voucher to spend at her Etsy shop sweetvintage78.
It's kind of a little plug for her shop as well because I absolutely adore her stuff!
Here is the comment I posted on her blog:
Buttons & flowers and little doilies too
You cannot help but buy more than a few
They are great for those projects like scrapbooking and such
But as decorations on clothes and cushions, I like just as much
Sweet vintage embellishments have so much style and flair
At affordable prices, your bank balance won't care
With these finds, I can create pretty things with such ease
And for anyone of any age, what I create will surely please
So thankyou Jodie for creating with love
You definitely have a gift given to you from above!
Can you tell that I also love writing? Although, I have never written much poetry, I am loving this! And even if I don't win, it was fun to write and I still love buying sweet vintage stuff!

Only now that I have entered into the world of 'blogging' do I regret being a little slow on the uptake. I am having a fantabulous time looking up blogs, delving into the creative lives of others and stimulating my creative mind. I am totally hooked to the point that I think I may need to attend 'Bloggers Anonymous' if I'm not too careful (not that there is such a group and even if there was, I doubt it would help anyway!)
I have freqently heard of blogs and knew what they were and even stumbled across a few while searching up on various topics, but never did I think to look up any along the lines of my interests. It wasn't until I watched the movie Julie & Julia, did I think, 'Wow, maybe I could set myself a challenge and blog about it'. What would I do? Umm...
- how many garments/items can I knit in a year?
- A Page a Day (my endeavour to complete unfinished scrapbooking projects)
- Make Op-Shop quilts for a year - only use materials bought from op-shops/second-hand stores
- Dressmaker's Course - my journey through learning to sew like a pro!
- 101 days of my life - a photographic memoir
My brain was whirling with possibilities and concepts. This set me off looking up crafty, arty-farty blogs that I could relate to. I knew that there was ALOT of bloggers out there but I am just totally bamboozled with all the good stuff I can read from people like me who are crazily addicted to all that is crafty and creative. I felt rather insignificant. Any blog I wrote would probably get completely lost in this array of choices. But hey - you're reading it so please come back and see what I come up with to post every day or so! I haven't actually set myself a challenge of any sort but do hope to set small challenges for myself every now and then that I will blog about so keep reading! You might actually get something out of it for yourself!!
