Today I am grateful for...

** being a part of the ambulance team here in my local area.

** celebrating my husband's birthday today. Thirty-five years young :-)

** a bike ride. Short but sweet. I love the fresh air on my face.

** the chance to relax and have a good laugh!

** the fact that I had PawPaw ointment in my cupboard. Little K burnt her finger on a sparkler tonight and she screamed the house down. Thankfully the ointment did the trick and took the burny bite away so she could sleep. Phew!

** Skype. Talked to my fam in Tassie and Mt Isa today. Always good to catch up.

** being Aussie. I do love this land and the way we talk - the Aussie lingo really is so entertaining and amusing.

This video cracks me up...

** for the possibilities a new week can bring.

This week I am grateful for...

** Safe travels. I've been away for a week for appointments and such and everything has gone quite well - apart from the anxiety attack when we hit the city, oh, and the growth being cut off my uvula, and the camera probe stuffed down my nostrils, and now on meds for chronic sinusitis...but I'm alive. And I'm grateful for that ;-) LOL!

I've actually had a really enjoyable week.

** A night away with my husband, at the...Parmelia Hilton!!!

He has surely spoilt me.

** To watch Pitch Perfect again! Gosh I love that movie!

** RETAIL THERAPY! who doesn't really!?! hehe

** The chance to have some me-time, some self-reflection, basically just some time to actually think properly, no other voices in my head for abit. Ya know what I mean!?

** My girls being able to have some quality time with their Grandma and Grandad.

** Finding the cutest, yummiest Greek restaurant - thanks to the keen eye of J-babe who gave me a ride to Perth. Eight or so hours in the car and we deserved that awesome meal - that food really did make an impression on me. Can't stop thinking about it! hahaha

** I am just grateful for this week really - I am blessed.

I am grateful for:

** Nurofen Zavance -- this and a whole lot of prayer, allowed me to 'kind-of' function through the horrid flu bug.

I am also very grateful that I am over the worst of it and starting to regain some better health.

** the entertainment my kids provide us with every day - their funny faces, their little quips and silly stories all make me smile.

** herbal tea. It makes my evening and winding down from the day so much easier and enjoyable.

** special time with my eldest. I have multiple days where I get one on one time with our little K but I don't get much opportunity for some Miss J and me time. Sometimes, she has trouble getting to sleep (like tonight), so I let her get up and I make her a warm choc milk and sit with her watching something together (like Anne of Green Gables at the moment) and chatting. Just for a little bit.

Warms my heart :-)

** where I live. And everything I have that I need in easy reach.

I have so much compared to some people in other parts of the world.

Like these people...

I am grateful that I have the opportunity to make a difference -

no matter how small to us...it is a great deal to them.

Today I am grateful for...

** The opportunity to create!

** Markets!

I attended a local market this week as a stall-holder BUT I did get a quick chance to have a walk around the other stalls. I managed to purchase some awesome quinoa bread which I have been thoroughly enjoying this week AND I also got my hands on a succulent plant from b&b designs!!! I have been eyeing off their super gorgeous twine and moss planters for ages and I'm so grateful to have been able to buy one!!

** technology triumphs!

My laptop does not like going flat, being plugged in and then having to retrieve the screen again - it chucks a major hissy fit.

So I had to wait until it was fully charged, un-plug it and boot up.

And when I did...the window I was working on popped right up!

My heart leapt with joy!!

I didn't have to re-do any of the work I had done through out the afternoon!!

** freshly mown lawn. It looks so neat and tidy.

** Chocolate. Many people would agree I'm sure ;-)

** Laughter. Especially if it happens while watching Big Bang Theory in the company of my hubby who is laughing is head off too!

Today I am grateful for:

* photos. I love that they take me back in time, to a particular place and memory and let's me relive the moment.

* my Mum's cooking. She has whipped up some yummy meals while she has been visiting...it has definitely relieved some of my everyday stress as cooking is really not my forte!

* stories. I love telling them, reading them, writing them.

* coffee...and cups of tea.

* BED. Cos I need sleep...and nothing beats snuggling down under the sheets and having your head hit the pillow, sink right in and feel sleep take over!!

This week I am grateful for:

** Faith. Hope. And LOVE.

** The promise of good things even amongst the bad.

** Family.

** Safe travels.

My Mum and sister arrived this week. We love these times where we can just hang out and be together.

** Yorkshire pudding. Raspberry and walnut brownie.
Had never tasted a Yorkshire pudding and my sister made them for dinner with roast lamb and veggies -- delish.
And the brownie...I made it...aced it...pure bliss!

** a devoted, steadfast husband.

This week I am grateful for...

** the chance to stretch and challenge myself and come out loud and proud and having learnt something new!

** the power of music. I love what wells up inside me when I sing, or hear great singing!

** frozen meals. Sometimes I just don't have the energy to cook something from scratch - it's been one of those weeks.

** HOPE. With hope there is always a chance; always a possibility. Never lose hope.

** the precious faces of my two girls. They are sunshine to me.

** safe travels. It's always good to arrive home safe and sound after some time away.

Here is an article I came across through the week that I found meaningful and rather relevant to the circumstances and themes of my life and those around me lately.

It is about a topic that could very much increase or hinder your ability to be grateful in every circumstance with how much or how little you let it in.

Have a great week.

Thank you for dropping by!

3:03 PM

** at the sound of rain on the roof...so soothing!

** with the chance to expand my skills and experience in particular areas of my life

** at how our neighbourhood comes together, especially in times of emergency - like when the 3 remaining town ambos have to head off on a call and all the kids end up at one place to be looked after by the remaining parent. It's very heart-warming to know that people have got your back and just how well we all band together as a community.

** when I get a random chat with my Dad - doesn't happen super often so it's nice :-)

** eating Camembert cheese and crackers

** when I receive exciting news and are blessed with the generosity of others...stay tuned - all will be revealed in good time ;-)

** slipping between fresh sheets on our bed. Ahhhh....zzzzzz ;-)

** sitting around a bonfire enjoying drinks, toasted marshmallows and great company

Every Sunday, I aim to post about things that I am grateful for.

Here is what I am grateful about this week --

* seeing my kids get up and give it a go!

The school my girls go to, had their 2nd term assembly this week (a bit earlier than usual due to other activities happening over the next couple of weeks).

Both my girls got up and did items. I loved seeing their happy faces as they performed.

Little K as one of the 'five little ducks who went out one day' and Miss J singing, her beautiful voice ringing out sweetly and perfectly in tune.

It filled my heart with joy!

* celebrating our little ones 4th birthday.

The joy on her face and the excitement in her heart about everything her special day brought about, presents and a party and fun with friends, was beautiful to watch.

Our baby is growing up FAST!

* that my home is starting to take better shape and fit more into my ideals and hopes for how I want it to look and be organised.

Declutter and minimise is my goal.

* when other people reach out and check that you're going along ok in life.
It means so much to know that there are those out there that have your back; that care about me.

* that the rain has finally come and we are getting a nice water over the land.
Farmers have been wanting it!

* a new dentist. a new treatment plan. and the ball is rolling towards getting my new smile :-)

I found this article through the week too and wanted to share it here.
It's a great reminder to not take the smaller things for granted because they also make up your journey through life, making it special, more vibrant, and more magical.

You've heard it before...

Gratefulness is good for you.

Many therapists/counsellors/health care workers have seen how positive the act of being grateful is to one's health, especially for mental health; even going as far as implementing a 'gratefulness journal' into the care of their patients/clients.

Many individuals have professed that focusing on the positive and adopting an attitude of gratitude, transformed their way of thinking and changed their lives!

And I totally agree.

No matter how bad your day is, there is always SOMETHING that you can pick out of it that is good - even if it's something as simple as 'the sun came out'.

When I was in college/university, I made it a priority to write something on a piece of paper at the end of each day and pop it in an envelope; something good about my day. That way, I went to sleep with something positive on my mind AND I slept a whole lot better in that state of mind!

And this is something, I want (and need) to establish more solidly into my life.

This year, my One Little Word is HAVEN, and part of my physical intentions for this word is to create a haven for good health.

I believe GRATEFULNESS plays an important part of this.

So, every week, I intend to write a blog post containing a list of things that I am grateful for at that moment;

things that make my soul sing.

* when I hear my children singing, playing, laughing and having fun.

* knowing I have done something productive

* giving of my time for a worthy cause

* seeing community spirit

* when I am playing the piano and singing songs that mean something to me

* writing out my feelings and thoughts

* when i see good works done

* looking out my window and seeing the sun shining, the breeze gently swaying the trees and drying the clothes.

* feeling peacefulness

What is making your soul sing today?
