I am joining in with Lisa Leonard's Hello Monday blog posts!
Here are this weeks Hello's...
HELLO to the Sickies. Not a nice thing to start with I know. Sprout and I haven't been well. And I am hoping with as much hope as I can muster that Mr Awesome or little Sparkle don't get any of the variety of stuff that we have!
HELLO to crochet Stars. Found this pattern whilst sorting through my magazines. I ripped the page out and sat down that evening and crocheted up 2 stars while watching a movie with my Mr Awesome!
HELLO to morning 'mountain climbs'!
HELLO to a good little bit of 'repurposing' ;-) My little Sparkle has found herself a cute little 'stool'!This Jack-In-A-Box won't be coming out of his box until a certain little someone has finished watching telly! LOL!
HELLO Christmas decorations! It's so nice to see you again :-)
Saturday will be 'Tree Raising Day' for us so I am preparing for this upcoming family event!
HELLO to Recovery Time. Although there is many plans for this week, I need to remember that I have just been quite ill and my body is still in recovery mode. So taking moments to relax is necessary. Activity...Rest, Activity...Rest - that is my cycle at the moment. I'll get there :-)
What are you saying 'Hello' to this week?
I do hope you are well and happy!

It's no secret that I LOVE op-shopping.
I score many great finds - clothing, ornaments, fabrics, vintage sheets, kitchenware.
I just love finding something pre-loved and re-loving it again!!
The other day while walking around one of my local oppies, something caught my eye...
And I knew I couldn't leave it there.
A lot of work went into this needlework and I appreciate that - so I brought it home with me.
The picture just looks so...peaceful.
I plan on finding a frame for it or have Mr Awesome make one to suit it - and hang it up in my studio. It will match the space so well in there.
Do you love rescuing pre-loved treaures like this one? What treasured item have you found and taken home to re-love again?

Yes!
I actually SCRAPPED!
I haven't undertaken any scrapbooking in YONKS.
It's all there in my studio though. The photos. The albums. The tools. The supplies.
But it is the one thing that we all want more of - that I, too, greatly lack...
TIME.
And some studio organisation wouldn't hurt too. Alot of the stuff is still in boxes. [sigh] ;-)
But - I got into a scrapping frenzy when I saw a layout in the Etzcetera Jingle Bells Workshop the other week. I got right in and did one myself using the design and techniques that were shown in the layout.
And here was the result...
Ok, yeah it was only one page but for me right now - that's a frenzy! LOL!
It was the first time I had used paint on a layout.
The first time I had stitched on a layout - which is quite evident! Haha! You can see at the start of the arrow that it was zig-zagged - I didn't check the stitch type before zooming that foot down into my paper! Just goes to show I haven't used my machine for a while either ;-)
It was also the first layout where I had used paper layering like this too.
Whether it is classified as 'good' work is irrelevant to me - I WAS SO EXCITED that I had completed something and had ACTUALLY scrapped a layout. I couldn't stop looking at it. LOL :-D
You can see the original layout that Kim did in the Jingle Bells Workshop - all you need to do is sign up and it's all there ready for you. It's not too late!
I am keen to get stuck into more layouts similar to this one and try out the other layout that was in the Jingle Bells Workshop too.
And all the other crafty projects as well, of course. Hehe.
What crafty projects have you been up to lately?

Well, I'm back!!
I have been joining in with Lisa Leonard's Hello Monday posts.
So this is what I am saying 'hello' to this week...
HELLO to the First Chop.
Our little Sparkle's fringe has been dangling in her eyes and even down to her nose for a little while now and since she won't keep in her clips or hair ties, I had to give in and do the CHOP!
The tooth brush is for distraction but she still didn't stand still very easily :-)
HELLO to Inevitable Changes.
I know we all grow older with each new day. But why does it have to happen so quickly? Especially with our kids!
Next year brings us to the time where we send our firstborn off to Kindy. Although it's an event filled with mixed feelings, I think we are all ready for this new phase.
Last week consisted of the Orientation day which Sprout thoroughly enjoyed. She didn't want to leave. When we got there, she just ran off to play. I am pretty sure there will be no issues with separation anxiety on her part. LOL ;-)
This week, my mind is filling with possibilities and ideas on how to bring our little family into this new phase! Think...rosters, designated bag hanging area, pretty posters showing our new routines, lunchbox & lunchbox food ideas - it's all happening in this little brain of mine! Haha!
HELLO to adding some 'frankie' to my kitchen.
I have been sorting through my magazine stash. Came across this groovy poster out of an old Frankie magazine from last year and thought it would look good on my pantry door. So there I stuck it!
HELLO to trying out some new 'treat' recipes. These were quite a hit! Definitely a possible lunchbox snack idea for the school kid :-)
HELLO to loads of Crafty and Christmasy inspiration around the place lately. Mollie Makes is one of my fave mags as is the online magazine, Etzcetera.
I have just finished the annual Etzcetera Christmas workshop, Jingle Bells 2012.
There was SO many great projects in this workshop - I pretty much want to do EVERY single one of them. I have printed off the lovely eBook that came with the workshop for easy, on-hand reference so I can get cracking!
You can join in too. Head on over to the Etzcetera website and sign up. It's all there loaded up ready for you to enjoy!! And you will enjoy it - I can assure you of that!
What are you saying 'hello' to this week? Let me know in a comment or leave a link to your blog in the comments section telling us what you are saying Hello to! Would love to hear!

Yes.
I am still here.
:-)
Just thought that I would pop in to say a quick hello and how you doing!?!
Life has been abit upsy-downsy-daisy here lately.
Harvest has been in full swing - on and off with the weather which makes for odd working hours to get the job done as soon as they can.
Christmas is approaching, therefore I am in planning mode in an attempt to be ultra organised this year!
We are coming out of another bout of fluey sickies, some teething chucked in there as well, and a variety of different appointments and events have been snavelling up the days as well.
And due to life being abit mucked up and out of normal routine, with Daddy off playing chasy chasy's in the tractor and being with Mummy all day, the kids know JUST when to amp up the feral factor. LOL! They have a lovely little sensor for these times.
And today, I have realised that I have been trying to 'do it all' and it is just not possible. When I get focused on something, I get stuck into that mind-frame and if something or someone interrupts that, I can get a tad irritated. When this happens, my kids suffer because I get my 'grumpy' pants on and that's no fun for anyone! I am always running around trying to get the housy things done - washing, dishes, tidy up, even try and push in some crafting (which I LOVE to do) and when the kids ask something or want me for something, I keep saying 'Not now - I'm too busy!'
Lately, when I say that, my heart has tweaked. And I have realised that I don't want to be the Mum that is always 'too busy' for her kids.
So today, I decided to just sit down.
And just let my kids crawl up on my lap and sit and chat to me or watch telly with me.
As soon as I sat down in the recliner today, my little Sparkle's face lit up and she ran straight over and climbed into my lap. She sat there perfectly relaxed and comfortable for half and hour. She would look up at me, smile and do her little ba-googly-dah-doo-dah chatty thing with me and I would nod and say 'I love you too, sweetie' to which she would give a smile and snuggle into the crook of my arm. They really do understand and respond to the language of love!
My house is a mess. Nothing is in order. But I just had to CHOOSE to take the time to 'be' with my kids - just for a little bit of the day.
There are times where they need to learn that Mummy needs to get something done and then she can play, or sit, or whatever.
The state of the house is still causing me some stress BUT I invested time into my kids and I know that they benefited from this.
So that made me happy.
It was nice.
With all this going on lately, I haven't been here on my blog as much as I would have liked. I have missed the Christmas Countdown (40 days to go) blog post this week. Sorry about that. But instead of trying to catch up, I am letting myself off the hook this time and will try and pick it up next Sunday for 30 days Countdown till Christmas!
I am aware of the potential for myself to 'burn the candle at both ends' which would not benefit anyone including myself so I am trying to be kind to me and not put expectations on myself that are unnessary and slightly unrealistic.
I aspire to be Wonderwoman but alas, I am not.
This post is probably abit jumbled and all over the place. Once I started writing, it all just started falling out onto the page. I guess I needed to get it all out. There has been so much on my mind lately.
But Thanks so much for listening (or reading really I guess...)
Maybe you can relate to some of the things I've touched on :-)
Well, bed is calling me.
I hope to see you here through the week - starting tomorrow if all goes well, with my regular Hello Monday post :-)
Until then...
Take Care.
