Jot Magazine...

3:09 PM

A little while back, Kim Archer of Etzcetera Magazine announced a new and exciting little 'something' she was creating.
When the reveal happened, it was 'jump up and down' pure excitement for me...

For all the arty papercrafty creatives out there. YAY!
I love all that Kim Archer and her creative support team come up with so this was just something else that got this little creative in quite a tizzy.
I immediately popped the blog in my favourites list and 'Liked' the Jot Facebook page.

It wasn't long before a special post by the magazine popped up in my Facebook newsfeed about a Mood Board Challenge. The colours were totally up my alley and I knew exactly what photo I was going to use, the wording and a general idea of how I wanted the layout to look like. I haven't had that happen in a long time. I have done one other scrapbook layout in the last five odd years so this was going to be my second. And it was great to get back into it and manage to create something I was proud of!

The Process

 The materials I used were:
~ white bazzil cardstock
~ mini square stamp pad to ink around the edges of the page
~ a houndstooth stencil to roughly paint on a background
~ paint
~ floral paper
~ black ribbon
~ aqua tissue paper
~ buttons
~ diamonte embellishments
~ decorative clip
~ black letter stickers
~ journalling pen

And all together...

 It came up like this!
I am so in love with it - I really can't believe I did that!! LOL!!

So once completed, I sent a photo of it through to Jot Magazine for the Challenge competition and admired all the other entries coming up on the blog and Facebook page. There was some really good stuff coming in!!

And the verdict?

Squuuuuuueeeeeeaaaaaallllll!!
I'm going to have something published in the very first issue of JOT Magazine.
Totes thrilled :-D

Now I'm itching to get working on the next Mood Board Challenge :-)
It's so much fun!
