Over this weekend, Fri 4th until today Sunday the 6th, D-Lish Scraps have been celebrating with their 5th Birthday Bonanza Cybercrop. 

There has been challenges, spot sales, games and just a whole lot of fun and inspiration going on this weekend.

The first challenge popped up on Friday and I got stuck into it.

It was a scraplift by Tarrah.

I'm quite fond of layers so I really liked Tarrah's layout. And I do love the natural colour scheme she has going however I went a completely different colour scheme :-)

Welcome to another week of my...

1. The title of this article attracted me straight away! We have recently had a few issues with our 5 year PrePrimary child having difficulty in some situations of conflict which we have 'nipped in the bud' and seems to have been successful. Reading this article allowed me to feel validated in our actions towards teaching our daughter better coping skills in these negative situations. It's a good read!

2. Ali Edwards hits the nail on the head with this post - I'm a memory keeper and I am in for the long haul :-)

3. I really like what Elsie & Emma do - looking forward to the release of their new book!

4. I've started reading Elle's blog more regularly over the last couple of weeks and I really like it because pretty much every time I read what she writes, I'm nodding my head. She is on my wavelength..and I like that. This post sticks out to me alot - There is POWER in the POSITIVE stuff people!!

5. I'm pretty sure anyone who watches this would think of the term 'like a girl' quite a bit differently afterwards. I got emotional and all fired up in one pop when I saw it! I want my daughters to be confident, resilient but compassionate human beings - and they'll do it like the strong, capable girls that they are :-)

Just wanted to pop in with a layout that I have created for the June challenge over at the 123 Challenge Blog.

Here is the 1-2-3 of the challenge...

Colour = BLUE

Word = TOGETHER

Technique = MASKING

And this is what I came up with...

I have used a polka dot mask and sprayed on my background using Mr Hueys colour mist in a Powder Blue. I have used patterned papers that feature blue in them as well. I have used the word TOGETHER as part of my title for the page.

I had been wanting to use this photo in a layout and when I came across this challenge I KNEW it was it!!

I must say...I am quite in love with how it turned out. 

Don't ya just love it when something turns out just as you imagined it in your head - it doesn't happen often but it DOES happen and this is one of those times.

Yeah, so you remember last week's TO-DO list?

I'm back to reveal what I did, what I started and what I didn't get done at all!

Alot of the points were hopefuls - I would be happy if I had at least made headway on most things on this list!

So...

1. I did manage to keep on top of the main household tasks - washing dishes, washing clothes (although due to weather I am not completely caught up but slowly plodding away when I am able to get clothes out that will DRY!), beds made every morning.

2. The main bedroom still remains in a state of disarray. Where I started, has only made more mess so it's still a work-in-progress.

3. I got quite a ways through my wardrobe - just got a few boxes of clothes I need to sort through and organise. I have an op-shop bag filling up and have chucked what I need to chuck. It's happening and that is good :-)

4. I finished the final items for some gifts for my birthday swap gift recipients for the month of July!

5. I have started going through scrapbook kits in my studio, have started actually using them although nowhere near clearing them off my table and storing them on the shelf yet :-/

6. Well the desk lamp is going where the pile of kit boxes are that I am going through so NO...that is yet to be set up yet!

7. I've started crocheting the cushion!!

8. We attended a local community dance night at the hall on Saturday night - quite a number of people attended from around the area. Band and food was good. The kids had a blast too!

9. Yesterday (Sunday) I had ambulance driver training. Daunting! But it was actually quite a good day...challenging and limit pushing for me but I learnt a lot and surprised myself with what I was capable of doing :-)

10. The art journal is yet to be started BUT I have many ideas floating about in the creative compartment of my brain ;-)

11. I have started getting some design team projects underway.

12. No Project Life catch-up happened - oh! unless you can count jotting down happenings of the week in my notebook and printing off some photos ready for my album...yeah! That so counts!!! ;-)

So, it wasn't all unproductive hey!?!

So what am I up to - or hope to get done - this week?

Let me list it for you ;-) ...

1. Wash bathroom floors, vacuum right through all carpeted areas (we always do sporadic vacuums in targeted areas so we need to do the whole lot in one go for once!).

2. Hang some pictures around the house.

3. Bake an orange cake.

4. Finish crocheting that cushion I started.

5. Get that art journal started - at least a couple of pages!!

6. Tidy main bedroom.

7. Finish sorting through and organising wardrobes.

8. Continue moving along with design team projects.

9. Man the shop for a few hours one day this week.

10. More studio time - sorting, organising AND creating of course ;-) SET UP THAT LIGHT!!

11. Project Life catch-up - at least get two more weeks done.

12. Begin lessons in the new workshop JOT POCKETS on Sunday. Details HERE - you can join too!!

Yeah, so it seems a long list. There a couple of bigger tasks to do but many are smaller things - it's a matter of keeping focused and it should all be able to be done in a week really hey!?! On top of the normal everyday running of the household. 

Here's hoping anyway :-)

I always am when it comes to anything memory-keeping and definitely anything Jot and Kim Archer related!

JOT POCKETS!!!

The up and coming new workshop created by Kim Archer herself!!

You most likely would have heard of Project Life - a pocket style approach to memory-keeping designed and created by Becky Higgins. And it has just gone off with a bang! Many people have tapped into this method for its ease and simplicity.

But, for some, there may be some confusion, and it may all seem a little overwhelming to get started.

THAT'S WHERE THIS WORKSHOP COMES IN!

Designed for the purpose of relieving any tensions, doubts or overwhelm for pocket style scrapping - this workshop will have you started and well on your way creating pages of memories with ease!

Class officially kicks off Sunday 6th July but there is already some pre-class tasks up and ready to go for you to join in on if you so choose! I had loads of fun creating a couple of pages with these pre-class projects...

And here we are yet again for my Friday Faves list. These are my...

1. Love Paper? Inspiration +++ in this post - 15 paper projects to make. Love it!

2. I must say - one of these would be really cool to have :-)

3. What a simple yet effective piece of art!

4. With school holidays looming, I am trying to work out some special activities for the kids to do - this post has got me off to a great start...although...we don't use the word bored, boring, boredom or whatever in this household. We often tell our kids that they should never be bored - there is always something they can do, they have plenty of things to keep them entertained.
So instead of boredom busters, I think I would rather refer to them as 'entertainment enhancers'! hehe ;-)

5. I am all for what this article is saying. I am particularly fond of point 5 - I have always been a huge advocate of kids being responsible for their own things and earning what they have, although I probably haven't portrayed this concept as heavily as I should to my kids...need to up the ante on that one I think.  In a society where much advertisement targets young adults, I want to my kids to grow up being financially savvy. I want them to stand up to the consumer driven mumbo-jumbo and be wise with their money and the decisions that they make.
I think I also need to give myself a swift kick up the butt too and start listening to myself!! ;-)

So I'm alive. I'm healthy(ish).

All is beautiful in the world :-)

Outside it is dreary and cold therefore it's cold inside too - trying to keep the fire cranking to warm things up. Until then, I am layered up with a singlet, long sleeve top, and a hoodie jumper and I'm feeling comfy in my tracky dacks :-)

So, the day might not be particularly bright but my heart is happy and sparkling with hopes, dreams, inspiration and a keen desire to make the most of every opportunity.

I have many plans...I thought that I would share my to-do's and hopefuls for this week here today!

1. Stay on top of the housework.

2. Get hubby and I's bedroom sorted and tidied - it's super cluttered at the moment. I need my space to breathe and relax!

3. Go through wardrobes - sort, reassign items in kids wardrobes (eldest 'too smalls' to youngest), discard or donate.

4. Get some special gifts finalised and sent to birthday swap July girls!!

5. Go through scrapbook kits - store on Expedit and START USING THEM!!

6. Set up desk lamp in studio for extra lighting when creating at night.

7. Start crocheting a cushion (possibly complete it this week?)

8. Go to a dance night at the local hall (Saturday). Better choose my outfit too - smart, casual...shouldn't be too hard to glam up abit? hmmmm.....

9. Ambulance driver training (Sunday) - stressing out abit about that but trying to let it not overtake my thoughts too much or it will ruin my week!! 

10. Make an art journal - again! I've started a few pages which are laying around somewhere in my studio...I've seen quite a few creatives around the traps getting into art journalling again and it has rekindled my desire to get my messy on and go wild :-)

11. Start ticking off some design team projects and write-ups.

12. Do some Project Life catch-up!!
